0.75ozcoffee liqueurI HIGHLY recommend finding a quality coffee liqueur (I love Mr Black). Kahlua will work, but I find it overly sweet.
1.25ozfreshly brewed coffee, chilledbrew some good coffee a few hours before and store in the fridge until chilled
0.5ozsimple syrupsee below
Instructions
First, fill your glass with ice to chill it while you make the martini.
Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker, without ice. Shake vigorously for ~30 seconds, you really want to build up as much of a froth from the coffee as possible. Then, fill your shaker with ice, and shake for another 30-45 seconds, until well chilled and frothy.
Pour the cocktail through a fine mesh sieve (this helps catch little ice chips) into your chilled glass, and garnish with 3 coffee beans.
Enjoy!
Simple Syrup
If you don't have simple syrup or don't know how to make it, it's as easy as adding 1:1 sugar and water to a pot and heating over medium heat, just until the sugar has dissolved. I recommend doing the ratio by weight with a kitchen scale if possible. Once done, allow to cool and then pour into a bottle or jar and store in the fridge for up to 1 month.
