It’s PSL SZN I’m usually a black coffee or cold brew kind of guy, but I’ve got to admit that the pumpkin spice latte is truly a work of art. I’ll get it a couple of times during the fall from Starbucks, but you can also make a really good PSL dupe from home! It’s also great because you can control how much sugar and pumpkin flavoring you want in your drink. And make sure you garnish with extra pumpkin spice and top with some nice foam or whipped cream to make it truly taste like the ones from the store! What’s your favorite fall drink?
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup strong black coffee
- 2 tbsp pumpkin puree
- 1-3 tbsp sugar, depending on how sweet you want it
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp ground cloves
Instructions
- Add the milk, pumpkin, and sugar to a saucepan over medium heat. Heat up and stir until the sugar has dissolved and the milk is hot, but not boiling. Remove the pan from the heat and mix in the vanilla, 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice blend (see below), and the coffee.
- Ladle the latte into two mugs, and optionally top with whipped cream and and extra pumpkin spice.
- Enjoy!
To Make Pumpkin Spice Blend
- In a small bowl, combine the cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves. Mix thoroughly with a whisk or fork until well combined. This makes more than you need for the recipe, and it's great to use for all kinds of things, like my pumpkin chocolate chip muffins!
