S’mores are one of my favorite desserts but sometimes I’m too lazy to start a fire out back – this s’mores skillet is the best way to satisfy that craving! Just bake some chocolate and marshmallow in a cast iron skillet, dip in those graham crackers, and you’ve got a perfect, easy dessert! I made mine using a mini skillet (as tempting as it is, I don’t need a full size for myself) but if you’re planning a party or gathering, you can easily double or triple the recipe to fit in a larger skillet. How do you like your s’mores?
Skillet S’mores
Equipment
- 6" cast iron skillet
Ingredients
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- graham crackers
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F.
- For this recipe, I used a small 6" skillet, it's perfect for 2-4 people. If you have more people eating dessert, or you don't have a 6" skillet, just scale up the recipe as necessary. Add the chocolate chips to the skillet, they should cover the whole skillet about 1/2" deep. I did a combination of bittersweet and semi-sweet chocolate chips, but what you choose is up to you! I recommend not doing milk chocolate however, as the sweetness of the chocolate plus the marshmallows can be a bit much.
- Cover the chocolate in the mini marshmallows, I also used ~1 cup, but really just eyeball it until the chocolate is covered to your liking.
- Place the skillet in the oven and bake for ~5 minutes, or until the marshmallows have turned golden brown; don't worry the chocolate will definitely be melted by then!
- Serve with graham crackers for dipping. Enjoy!
