There’s nothing better than a good coffee beverage, and Espresso Martinis are the best way to incorporate that rich coffee flavor into a boozy cocktail! These are so delicious and a great way to make a special occasion or dinner party even more elegant (with relative ease). Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be drinking these and only these forever!
Espresso Martini
Ingredients
- 1 oz vodka
- 0.75 oz coffee liqueur I HIGHLY recommend finding a quality coffee liqueur (I love Mr Black). Kahlua will work, but I find it overly sweet.
- 1.25 oz freshly brewed coffee, chilled brew some good coffee a few hours before and store in the fridge until chilled
- 0.5 oz simple syrup see below
Instructions
- First, fill your glass with ice to chill it while you make the martini.
- Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker, without ice. Shake vigorously for ~30 seconds, you really want to build up as much of a froth from the coffee as possible. Then, fill your shaker with ice, and shake for another 30-45 seconds, until well chilled and frothy.
- Pour the cocktail through a fine mesh sieve (this helps catch little ice chips) into your chilled glass, and garnish with 3 coffee beans.
- Enjoy!
Simple Syrup
- If you don't have simple syrup or don't know how to make it, it's as easy as adding 1:1 sugar and water to a pot and heating over medium heat, just until the sugar has dissolved. I recommend doing the ratio by weight with a kitchen scale if possible. Once done, allow to cool and then pour into a bottle or jar and store in the fridge for up to 1 month.
